WELCOME TO Wildwood Kennels of Alaska

Wildwood Kennels was established in 1963 in Tok Alaska with my first foundation breeding of Fortymile Rusty Roundhouse (Rusty) and Silverdart's Golden Nox (Gypsy). They produced great working and conformation dogs, and are solidly behind many of the finest field trial and hunting chesapeakes of today. While continuing to breed my old proven lineage, I have since added dogs that trace back many times to my old original pair. These related dogs bred back to my foundation lines are producing outstanding Chesapeakes. These proven combination of bloodlines are very talented, have a high degree of trainability and excellent temperaments. Wildwood chesapeakes breedings are based on performance for their potential as field trail and hunting dogs. Having sound handsome bodies, many have been shown to their bench championships. They are loyal companion and family dogs.

Wildwood Siberian Huskies breedings were started here in 1974 with my purchase of Shleekai kennels. These dogs had set several trail records racing here in Tok in the 1950s. They have continuously been bred for their racing and working abilities since the 1940s. During the years I have been breeding them I have improved both their performance in harness and their working conformation. They have genetically unique bloodlines from early Alaska and pure Seppala lineage. These original bloodlines produce many unique and strikingly beautiful colors that are not found in the modern Siberians. I have carefully selected for the most trainable dogs and those with the most loving and outgoing temperaments. They are very hardy and athletic, excelling at many tasks, including sled work, backpacking and jogging buddie. Being exotically beautiful they make wonderful companions you will be proud to own .
