Looking for the old fashioned hard driving Chesapeake Bay  Duck Dog who will work in the most extremes of weather and have the drive and endurance to keep going? Bred and raised in the cool boreal forrests of Alaska where they are always trained in icy waters and tested in our harsh conditions, these dogs will excell for you. They have excellent temperments and train up quickly. We have a nice selection of young dogs now. Wildwood dogs have a high level of trainability and are bright &
happy. While they make wonderful companion dogs and can perform many varied tasks, it should be understood that Wildwood Chesapeakes need lots of excersise and are at their happiest when they are working. I think if they could tell you, they would love most to be out hunting, they do enjoy many activities.

While most Chesapeake owners will agree that the Chesapeake is one of the most intellegent dogs, they are often astounded by thier dogs ability to comprehend what is wanted from them.

All breedings done at Wildwood are carefully planned out for several generations and all the aspects of the dogs are taken into consideration.

Having bred and trained so many of the dogs found in their
backgrounds, I have a great amount of success combining the
present dogs. I have selectively bred these
dogs for forty four years, establishing a unique group of dogs
that are capable in thier own right and able to consistantly
reproduce their type.
